Well, its been awhile since I have used this bog so its time to get back at it. I just finished this painting of birches and I must say it was abit of work. When my friend commissioned this piece from a few of my own photographs I was delighted and thought it would progress quite quickly....little did I know! The birch were fun to paint and after careful study, I began to see all of the varied subtle colors, lending themselves quite nicely I think, to watercolor medium. I am pleased with the overall results. I hope my friend, its owner, will feel the same. It is meant to be a reminder of her backyard which is lined with beautiful white birch, hence the painting's name, "Backyard Memories" . GiGlee prints are available.
